#activehealthylifestyles Notes from Women’s Wellness Conference: Dr. Heather Hirsch was the speaker for the topic, “Learning Physical & Mental Strategies for Aging Gracefully from our 20’s-80’s and Beyond.”
I especially paid attention to the exercise component of “Aging Gracefully.” Most of what I’m going to share is not new information. Your decision to START TODAY is how you can change your lifestyle to one of being MORE HEALTHY. I looked around in the room and saw women of different ages and different levels of fitness. So, you, too, can look in the mirror and see what your fitness level is today.
Sleep is such an important part of recovery from the day’s events and preparing yourself for tomorrow’s activities. Seven to eight hours is recommended. What small changes can you make to your evening routine so you get to bed early enough to get those 8 hours of restoring sleep? This is a choice.
Exercise is more than weight control. Exercise helps with your brain, bone, cardio health, mood and anxiety to name a few. We all have the same number of hours in a day. All you need is 30 minutes six or seven days each week to become a healthier you.
Women, Mom’s, Grandma’s, Friends, Relatives: We all have a tendency to put everyone else ahead of our needs. We think, I’ll get to me later in the day and before I go to bed. How is that working for you? It helps when you schedule this time and put it on your calendar. You are worth this time for you and your health. You can make a difference in the lives of those you love by taking care of you, so you have the energy and mental endurance to actually take care of others as you are taking care of you, too.
There are different ways you can accomplish being more active. Selecting an activity you like to do is the easiest way to begin your health steps to a healthier you. You can find programs on YouTube and other resources on the internet. Join a gym, YMCA, or any fitness center you will actually go to. Since I am a retired PE teacher and now a Beachbody coach, I am a resource for you. I want to be your cheerleader as you begin or continue your exercises to a healthier you. I have resources that will make a difference in your life.
My motto is “Start Today” and you will be one step closer to creating an “Active Healthy Lifestyle” that will allow you to be more capable of moving and doing what you like to do. I would love to help you. Please contact me today. Don’t wait.
